Mgr. et Mgr. Michaela Malá

Vědecko-výzkumný pracovník / Researcher

Michaela Malá graduated in sociology at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Charles University and in historical sociology at the Faculty of Humanities of the Charles University. She gained her work experience in marketing research at Kantar CZ, where she focused mainly on qualitative research as well as thanks to cooperation with architects, urban planners or city management, where she set up and implemented participation with various groups of participants on given topics. As she thinks it is not possible to talk about (not only) space for people without people, she focuses on a mediation of knowledge, opinions and insights on the given topic from different groups of participants. In her research practice, a direct contact with participants has worked the best thus she uses most often qualitative techniques that she likes to combine with others, including non-traditional ones such as mental maps or games. Currently, she focuses on two themes: providing support to small municipalities to transform public spaces and modernization process of public libraries, which, following the global trend, should become living educational, cultural, community and creative centers. In both themes she follows up a setting and an implementing participatory activity with different groups of participants in different phases of the process.
