Laboratory of Organic Rankine Cycles and their Applications

Jan Špale is a PhD student in Energy & Process engineering at Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, CTU in Prague, where he focuses on R&D of small scale turbomachinery for organic Rankine cycle power systems. In 2021 he successfully graduated as an Energy engineer (Ing.) also at CTU in Prague. He gained experiences with development of mechanical components for power systems and renewable energy sources during his international studies at Politecnico di Milano, KU Leuven or OTH Amberg-Weiden. Jan joined the team of Laboratory of Organic Rankine Cycles and its Applications (LORCA) in 2017 and since then, he is working on development of the biomass micro combined heat and power ORC unit named Wave. He is also responsible for conducting research projects connected to the ORC technology within this team.
